Testimonies
“I worked as a paediatric PT for two years in the UK then in 2004 I joined a small child development team in NZ as a visiting neurodevelopmental therapist. Khami joined the team as a PT a few months later and from her first day it was obvious she was going to be great fun to work with. I soon realised she was also extremely hard working, enthusiastic and totally dedicated to the children in her care. Whenever Khami was in the room, she would generate conversations about developing and progressing therapy, current research or the latest course she had done, and imaginative ideas to make it all fun. Khami was still at the CDC when I left in 2006, but we met up last year and it was obvious that her passion has not dimmed. Khami's intelligence, amazing memory and ability to assess people and situations holistically always made her a good person to talk things over with so her move to mentoring and supervising others seems a really good fit. I think she will be brilliant.”

“Khami is a fantastic physiotherapist both clinically but also in her supervisory skills. She has provided me with excellent supervision and clinical reasoning discussions around certain patients when I worked in the paediatric community setting in New Zealand. She is an excellent listener when discussing cases and is able to ask questions to probe critical thinking in helping come up with the best patient management plan. This was partially helpful with complex patients in the paediatric orthotics clinic that I worked in. In addition to this, Khami has previously and continues to provide excellent career supervision discussions. She has helped me consider where I want to take my paediatric physiotherapy career and coached me with this. This has helped me feel more confident in my decisions and has helped me pursue career development opportunities. I would highly recommend Khami for career supervision and clinical/case discussions.”

“Khami and I were colleagues at the Child Health Centre, I was an Allied Health Assistant and Khami was the Physiotherapist. Although I didn't assist with the physical therapy I was able to assist with the equipment. Khami is very knowledgeable and helped me with understanding what the purpose of each item was for. Khami is very approachable and friendly.”

“Khami was a wonderfully supportive and approachable mentor whilst working within our therapy team. She took a particular interest in promoting the knowledge and skills of the team, in particular the therapy assistants.
On a personal level she was instrumental in equipping me with the skills and confidence to go on to gain my foundation degree and to ultimately gain promotion to Practitioner.
She delivered clear, concise training in areas where I lacked confidence at work. This enabled me to treat patients with increasingly complex needs and brought new interest to my job. She trained me to fully understand patient conditions, underlying causes and red flags.
Khami has a dynamic and proactive approach to mentoring showing a genuine interest in the personal development of her mentees”
